Hello! My name is Atanas Nikolov and I was born in 1997 in a small town in Bulgaria. Where I still live today.

Almost my entire conscious life, knives have attracted me. From an early age, I collected all kinds of knives and sharpened them. Towards the end of 2021, I purchased a Damascus blade from a famous local blacksmith, which I wanted to make a handle and scabbard for and carry with me when I went hunting. Surprisingly for me, it turned out to be a not bad knife, I showed it in a Facebook group and received a lot of applause.

That’s when I decided to start making knives. Not long after, I bought my first belt grinder, some steel and made a few knives for friends.

I didn’t have a workshop yet, nor many tools. Back in the early summer of 2022, I started making a workshop in my backyard together with my grandfather and my father. With each passing month, my tools began to increase, as did my skills.

At first I made a few classic knives, but over time I realized that this was not my path. Currently I only make fulltang knives and friction folders.

For handles I avoid using natural wood, horns and bones.

I just don’t like working with them. I use Micarta and G10 because they don’t absorb water, don’t warp and have nice colors.

My dream is for this activity to become my main source of income one day.
